It started around 2016 with me just getting one very nice guitar.
I had a very special guitar that I’d played for years, back in the 1980s, but it was simply worn out. My playing had changed over the years as well, so I started looking for something that could replace it.
That turned into quite a journey that is still in progress.
I tried all kinds of electric guitars from different manufacturers, eras and styles, looking for the combination of feel, sound and features that worked best for me. Eventually, that turned into what I called Guitar Fight Club: putting guitars head-to-head and figuring out which one I actually preferred when the novelty, reputation and price tag were taken out of the equation.
After nearly a decade of buying, playing and comparing guitars, I’ve finally honed the collection down to the ones that really work for me. I’ve also really narrowed down what I am looking for in guitars, because I am not done yet!
Which leaves me with a different problem: A lot of really great guitars that need new homes.
Some lost their match in Guitar Fight Club. Some are simply duplicative of something I like a little better. Others are fantastic guitars that just don’t fit what I play today.
So, I’ve opened the Prostar Guitar Reverb Store, where I’ll be listing them as I work my way through the collection. You can also just buy them off this site.
There are some unusual, interesting and genuinely great guitars in the bunch, from vintage instruments to newer Custom Shop models and a few things you don’t see for sale every day.
