THANK YOU MARK!
I Got a Giannini Craviola!

I first met Mark Edward at Black Mountain Guitar in Cave Creek Arizona, via the owner, Ed Heisler. Mark has a very fun band I’ve gone to see many times here in Arizona, known as Mark and the Usual Suspects.

A few months back, mark brought in a 1970 Giannini Craviola 12 string, and unusual looking guitar to say the least, but it was intriguing right off the bat as a complete Brazilian Rosewood guitar. Mark let me play it, and I fell in love from the first strum. Easy to play and holy moly the tone!

The other thing that got my attention about these: Jimmy page used one on the song Tangerine. All these years later and I am still fascinated with Page’s picks for guitars.

So I had to have one. They do not show up too often, and when they do, they are often in rough shape. I talked with Mark and Ed a lot about what I was learning about them, and I am sure it was pretty clear I was more than a little smitten with the guitar.

So Imagine my surprise  when I walked into Black Mountain last week and Mark hands me this 1994 version and simply says “I want you to have this!”

Wow… thank you Mark! I’ve been getting to know her ever since, and I can’t wait to get a microphone on it and get it recorded!
