Not a store, nor a reseller. I just bought too many great guitars in an effort to find the right ones for me.

The Katharina Story

Some guitars are built to fit in: This one escaped captivity.

Named after Katharina von Bora, “Katharina” honors one of the most fearless women of the Reformation, a woman who refused to let kings, priests, or tradition decide her fate.

As a young girl, Katharina was forced into a convent against her will. But behind stone walls and under vows of obedience, something dangerous happened: she began secretly reading the writings of Martin Luther. His rebellion against corruption inside the Church lit a fuse that already existed inside her.

In 1523, Katharina and eleven other nuns carried out one of history’s most audacious escapes, fleeing the convent hidden among herring barrels on a merchant’s wagon under cover of darkness. If caught, the consequences could have been catastrophic. She escaped anyway.

The women were brought to Wittenberg under Luther’s protection. Most accepted arranged marriages and quietly disappeared back into the expectations of the age. Katharina refused. She declared she would marry only Martin Luther or one particular nobleman, and no one else. In an era where women were expected to obey without question, Katharina demanded control over her own destiny.

For Luther, marrying her was dangerous. Already condemned as a heretic by Rome, he feared execution if he took a wife after leaving the priesthood. Yet the marriage happened anyway, partly out of conviction, partly out of affection, and partly because, as Luther joked, it would “please his father, rile the Pope, make the angels laugh, and the devils weep.”

Together they built a legendary partnership, raising six children while Katharina ran farms, finances, brewing operations, and the sprawling Luther household with astonishing intelligence and strength. Luther would later write passionately about the joy she brought into his life.

That spirit lives inside this instrument.

Finished in blazing Candy Apple Red with gold hardware, *The Katharina* does not ask politely for attention. The sharp Warrior body looks forged from rebellion itself, while the Floyd Rose tremolo and custom-spec performance demand fearless hands. Every line, every angle, every flash of gold feels unapologetic. Untamed. Defiant.

This is not a guitar for background music: It is a guitar for people who refuse confinement.

Built for players who would rather escape in a barrel than live quietly inside walls built by someone else.

The Build

When I saw the shape on the Warrior Instruments website, I knew had to have one. I’ve always liked odd shapes, and I knew this one would get some attention.

The owner at Warrior Guitars kept me updated on the guitars progress every step of the way, and that unboxing day was the best!

I’m only selling because I just have too many guitars. It was very difficult to make the decision to let this one-of-a-kind guitar go, and I am 100% I will regret it – I just hope it goes to someone who appreciates it and the story as much as I have enjoyed it.
